System requirements and browser settings

Assessments can be stressful, and the last thing you want to worry about is technical difficulties when you’re completing them. We recommend following these instructions to make sure the experience is as trouble-free as possible.

You will need:

  • desktop or laptop computer with a mouse and a keyboard (some assessments are mobile device compatible, these are Cognify, Emotify and the Work Safety Assessment)
  • reliable internet connection
  • The latest version of one of these browsers:

Instructions for Google Chrome

You can download and install the latest version of Chrome here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

Before you start assessments, follow these instructions to check your screen magnification, clear your browsing history and allow pop-ups, cookies, and plug-ins from Revelian.

Set screen magnification level

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots at the top right of the screen.
  2. In the Zoom section, make sure magnification is set to 100%.

Clear browsing data

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots again and select More tools, then Clear browsing data.
  2. In the pop-up that appears, ensure the Time range field says All time.
  3. Ensure all boxes are ticked (Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files, then click the Clear data.

Enable cookies, JavaScript, Pop-ups and Plugins from app.revelian.com

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots and select Settings.
  2. On the screen that appears, scroll down and select  Advanced settings.
  3. In the Privacy and security section, select Content settings.
  4. Select Cookies and ensure the Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended) feature is turned on, or that app.revelian.com is added as an allowed site.
  5. Select JavaScript and ensure the Allowed (recommended) feature is turned on, or that app.revelian.com is added as an allowed site.
  6. Select Pop-ups and redirects and either turn Allowed on, or add app.revelian.com is added as an allowed site.
  7. Select Unsandboxed plugin access and add app.revelian.com as an allowed site.

Instructions for Mozilla Firefox

Before you start assessments, follow these instructions to check your screen magnification, clear your browsing history and allow pop-ups, cookies, and add-ons from Revelian.

Set screen magnification level

  1. Click the Tools link at the top right of your browser. Check that the Zoom section is set at 100%.

Clear browsing data

  1. Click the Tools link again and select Preferences.
  2. Go to the Privacy and security tab and click the Clear History
  3. In the Time range to clear pop-up, select Everything.
  4. Click Clear Now.

Enable cookies and Pop-ups from app.revelian.com

  1. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section and ensure that Accept cookies and site data is selected, or add app.revelian.com as an Exception.
  2. Scroll down to the Permissions section. If Block pop-up windows is checked, you’ll need to make an exception for Revelian. Click the Exceptionsbox and type app.revelian.com in the Address of website section, then click Allow.
  3. If Block pop-up windows is unchecked, leave it as it is.
  4. Close the Options box.

Instructions for Safari (Mac)

Before you start assessments, follow these instructions to check your screen magnification, clear your browsing history and allow pop-ups, cookies, and plug-ins from Revelian.

  1. Press Command – or Command + to adjust your screen resolution to 100%.
  2. In System Preferences, click Advanced and select Show Develop menu in menu bar.
  3. In Safari, click the Develop menu item and select Empty Caches.
  4. Click the Safari menu item and select Preferences.
  5. In the box that appears, click the Security tab.
  6. In the Web content section, ensure that the following are checked:
    • Enable plug-ins
    • Enable JavaScript.
  7. Ensure that Block pop-up windows is NOT checked.
  8. In the Privacy tab, click Remove all website data.
  9. In the box that appears, click Remove Now.
  10. Still in the Privacy tab, make sure that Always is NOT selected for Block cookies.
  11. Still in the Privacy tab, in the Accept cookies section, ensure that the Only from sites I visit option is selected.
  12. In the same window, click Show Cookies.
  13. In the box that appears, click Remove All, then click Remove All again in the pop-up window.
